My new toy - the Apple iPad 2

I’ve enjoyed having my iPad –but I always promised my wife that when the Apple iPad 2 came out in 2011, she’d inherit my iPad version 1.  Thus on Friday, March 25, 2011, the iPad2 came out and I’ve got a brand new iPad 2, my new toy.

My wife inherited my “old” iPad as promised.  Really, this is a cool tool as far as tablet devices are concerned.  You may be asking, is it any better than the no. 1? mainly because you love your no.1 iPad tablet by Apple.

My experience so far is that it’s lighter, thinner, and faster and the screen is still the same size. It’s still got the same size screen and don’t tell my wife, but I think the screen is better – better resolution. I got the pay-as-you-go data plan so I’m on Wi-Fi but can activate the data plan if I travel.  The cameras will maybe come in useful when my two nieces want to chat with their ailing uncle.

I think the sound is better but after-market speakers are a must for a backyard BBQ.  I still have to discover other things about my iPad 2 tablet.

The one thing I’ve always liked on the iPad 2 is the Map. Late at night, having a last beer, I can check in to see if I’m still here.  At least the Map says I am.
