For Zainab Al Hoseni

Zainab-Alhoseni-SyriaToday, I learned about the death of  Zainab Al Hoseni.  A young woman of Syria, 18 or 19 years old.  Tortured, burned, and killed by Assad’s gangs.  The blood of Zainab Al Hoseni is on the hands of Assad of Syria.  I cannot write more right now because I am so horrified.  She was tortured, burned, her legs and head cut off.  Women, young children and men have been tortured by Assad’s security forces.  This is enough to fuel further rage in Syria.

The people of Syria have lived under emergency rule since 1963.  Surely that is enough.  They have been denied their human rights and freedom for so long.  They have protested peacefully, unarmed, and have been shot down, without mercy, by Assad’s security gangs.  There has been many cases of torture and disappearances.  But government officials of Syria can sit across from the table of well known television  interviewers and just lie their fucking faces off and the whole world watches.  The Syrian government and Assad’s security gangs even torture and kill little children.

What we witness on our TVs and on YouTube videos is horrific beyond belief.  What we hear is beyond belief.  Assad of Syria is as evil as Hitler.  I do not know why the world sits by and watches and does nothing.  Russia wants to just sit by with its hands under its ass.

“DAMASCUS: A senior Russian envoy said after talks in Damascus on Monday that there was no change in Russian policy on Syria which has been opposed to Western calls for sanctions, Syrian state media said.

“Russia’s position on Syria is unchanged,” the official SANA news agency quoted deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov as saying.

“The envoy affirmed his country’s support for the reforms launched by Syria in the political and economic fields and expressed hope that its security and stability would be maintained,” the agency added.

The Russian envoy, who held talks with both President Bashar Assad and Foreign Minister Walid Muallem, underlined the “importance of continued coordination between the two countries in all fields.”

For his part, Assad expressed his appreciation for Russia’s “balanced approach to developments in Syria,” SANA added.

I’ve written as much as I can about the revolutions in the Middle East. I’ve written about Syrian atrocities. Why? Because I am so horrified. I can’t believe, the world just watches. History will write about the Syrian revolution documented by cellphone videos of its citizens.  A collage of blood and violence and tears and suffering.  The Syrian government does not allow the free press to enter the country  because they certainly don’t want the truth to be known.  Too late, modern technology works against the dictators.

In honor of Zainab Al Hoseni, I want my readers to read this and then hop over to Change.org and sign the petition to ensure that Al Assad and his gangs all face punishment for their crimes against humanity.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT

“A call to all Women’s Rights Organizations, and all Human Rights Organizations:The Syrian people demand you to take an action against the violation of human rights in Syria. Assad security thugs kill Syrian people just because they ask for their freedom peacefully. They open fire on peaceful protesters and kidnap their family members in search of the wanted activists. Some teenager girls are being kidnapped, raped, tortured, slaughtered and returned in pieces in black bags to their families. Every Syrian teenager girl is a candidate to be another Zainab.

The story of Zainab Al-Husni, whose head, arms & legs were cut off by security forces in Homs city, Bab Alsibaa neighborhood, represents the brutality of the crimes commited by the Syrian regime against innocent civilians.

Zainab brother: Muhammad Al-Husni was one of the well known activists. Security & Shabiha (regime-sponsored gangs) raided his family house so many times looking for him that forced his family to leave their home, they rented a house in Al-Naziheen neighborhood. While Muhammad had to stay in hiding, his 19 years old sister had to bring groceries for the family; but she was not safe due to the siege and to the poverty that took hold of Homs city under the regime collective punishment for the residents for holding peaceful anti-regime demonstrations. On the morning of the 2nd of Ramadan (coincided with the 2nd of August) the young woman was abducted, the regime had ear dropped on the family’s calls (wireless & landlines) for a while before that. After 5 days of the abduction, the family received a phone call saying that Zainab will be returned if the “wanted” Muhammad surrendered to security forces. They specified a place in an unsafe neighborhood, so the family was trying to find a safer place in the city for the exchange but the other side closed the phone. On the 13th of September the family was shocked when they got the news that their son Muhammad was killed on the hands of security & the intelligence agency. Members of the family went to receive his body from the Military Hospital in Homs. There, in the hospital, and by accident the family was informed that there was a 19 years old young woman in the morgue, the family went to investigate, at first they could not recognize her; because her head was cut off and her arms were cut off from the shoulders, there were evidence of torture on her back. Her face was burned and signs of burning showing all over her body. The family was not allowed to receive their daughter’s body until they signed promising not to video her nor to perform a funeral procession.”

Be horrified about what happened to Zainab Al Hoseni and many others.  Sign the petition for Zainab.
Zainab, I never knew you, but may you rest in peace, far away from the horrors of this world.
