The 83rd Academy Awards, otherwise known as a night at the Oscars, darlings… are on again!!!!!!!!!! Laura here reporting on that fabulous event.

The 83rd Academy Awards are coming this Sunday night, February 27th and extensive preparations are underway for biggest annual event in Hollywood. Millions of people around the world will be tuning in their TVs to watch which movie will win the Oscar for the best picture, best actors, best directors, best screenplays, best everything for the movies that have delighted and entertained us throughout the past year.

Millions are eagerly anticipating the parade of movie stars on the Red Carpet.  Rating who is the most gorgeous and glamorous of all the Hollywood stars has become a national pass time. The celebrity gossip game has begun predicting what the celebs will be wearing right on down from Oscar hostess of the evening, Anne Hathaway, to the actresses nominated for their work in the movies of 2010. This year’s contenders such as Natalie Portman, Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Williams will all by vying for “best dressed.”

What to wear, what to wear? (I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date!!)  Will it be something divine by Givenchy, Dior, Chanel, or even Oscar de la Renta? And what to wear in the bling department? Oh and shoes! We can’t forget the Shoes!  Who will be wearing what baubles dangling around their necks, and decorating their well manicured fingers with how many carats? Which movie star will get the “best dressed”vote and who will get the “what were they thinking?” label?  So much to think about.

I’m willing to bet that every actress who’s got  a Sunday night date booked for the Oscars followed by attendance at the the most desired after party, the Vanity Fair Oscar party (an event in itself) is on a starvation diet.  The past two weeks have been spent conditioning their tresses, working out like Madonna, and appointments with the hairstylists, manicurist, pedicurist, facials, etc., booked months prior. The VF after party is when the stars mingle with the stars and nobody wants to look too frumpy for the night. It just won’t do! Gorgeous is the keyword!  The Vanity Fair Oscar party, after all, is the most coveted invite party in the universe, THE place for practicing the art of mingling!

So tune in Sunday night darlings to the the 83rd Academy Awards and then savour the moment of glitz, glamour and sparkle!  Then enjoy the moment again on Monday reading all the gossip, praise and bitching the Hollywood press puts out.
