Summer Fashion Trends 2011
Don’t you just love the spring/summer fashion shows so that you can be ahead of the trends? Everybody connected with fashion, whether they are from the industry or are just fashion conscious fashionistas, wait for these shows so that they can do away with the drabness of winter. 2011 has been a particularly exciting year because it comes at a time when the global financial crisis is slowly going away. People are slowly getting the cash back and are now willing to spend money and designers are responding with highly creative and colorful designs.
The most exciting news about the fashion trends for the summer of 2011 is the abundance of colors available. Designers have been particularly adventurous in their use of colors. Not only have they used wonderfully bright colors but they have also mixed them in ways that people are totally unaccustomed to. Fashion addicts have been treated to the sight of beautiful outfits in all shades of yellow and blue as well as juicy fruity colors such as watermelon red and apple green. I’m thinking of the Spring Paris Fashion show in particular, the Armani electric cobalt blues and the brilliant, stunning colors of Prada and the Paul & Joe’s “rising sun” colors.
Many designers have looked to the exciting 70’s for inspiration and have come up with clothes that are truly amazing looking. The bohemian style of this period appeals to a lot of people today who want to put the fears caused by the economic crisis behind them. Givenchy, Gucci and Just Cavalli have been particularly successful in giving a contemporary style to the 70’s ethos. It’s not just a “re-hash,” it’s a completely modern perspective on retro. Think: hippies, tie-dye and animal prints in the Summer 2011 look from Just Cavalli!
The fashion runways have also seen a profusion of floral prints that have appealed to the romantic at heart. Dolce & Gabbana and Nanette Lepore have brought out some very attractive floral prints. In fact, D&G seemed to have focused on romance with plenty of white garments that incorporate details of embroidery and lace. Just perfect for summer fashions! Just Cavalli presented its trademark animal prints in striking new designs. Diane Von Furstenberg and Tommy Hilfiger also presented stunning clothes in the traditional whites of summer fashions.
The summer fashion shows presented very chi-chi fashionable people with a wide range of options for keeping cool and being cool for Summer 2011. There were many wonderful options for people who wanted a chic but laid back look as well as for people who like to dress retro, look fabulous without ever looking dated. This summer is definitely going to be a great time for the fashionistas out there!
