Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong

Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong

Each year, Americans spend more than 40 billion dollars on plastic surgery. People receive their inspiration mostly from the celebrities and models they adore on TV, in the movies and in the media magazines. People want to have the look that the media promotes and one way of doing this is by plastic surgery.  However, sometimes this can go way too far.

Back when a lot of the young celebrities had just entered the world of fame, they looked energetic, stunning and innocent. However, as time went on, some of them changed their style from being a “girl next door” to a sex symbol. Instead of selling their talents, they paid more attention to their own sex appeal. Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson…. The list goes on and on. Along with the change of their style, their looks also transformed. Some of them got a breast implants, Botox lips, a nose job…. Sometimes, not only did they modify their image to such an extent, but they also modified their bodies and their faces, conveying a wrong message to the public and especially to the young generation about the benefit of getting plastic surgery.

Of course, their plastic surgery was done by the best plastic surgeons for a very high price. But the plastic surgeons ordinary people can afford are sometimes inexperienced surgeons and some are not even licensed surgeons in some cases which can produce disastrous results. Luckily for ordinary people, there is cosmetic surgery financing, but it comes at a price that is not cheap.  There are even cases where a person will become “addicted” to plastic surgery and no longer be able to realistically judge the results. They obtain plastic surgery after plastic surgery to the point where their bodies and faces look puffed and unrealistic. Way too much Botox, way too many cosmetic surgeries. Instead of looking more beautiful, they begin to look like waxed dolls.  I can’t understand it, can’t they see the image in the mirror?

Plastic surgery is also a type of operation, which involves risks right from the beginning when a person is injected with the anesthesia. Patients can die on the operation table if a surgical team is not well trained. We have all heard of such stories in the media. However, there are many other terrible facts related to plastic surgery that people should be aware of.

After an operation is done on the face or chest, the recovery period can be as long as six months. It doesn’t mean that when someone walks out of the operation room, they can walk out looking like a model or ten years younger instantly. Periods post-surgery can be very hard to cope with. If it’s a breast augmentation surgery, a person is not allowed to lift her arms too high or have too much rapid movement and exercise is definitely out of the picture for quite some time. If it’s  Botox or Restylane on the face, a chin job or a nose job, areas on the face will swell, bruise and could become infected. It takes a long while to heal, and in some cases, a patient will fall into a depression if she is suspecting such condition to be permanent. Time will heal of course, but there is a recovery period of differing lengths for every type of plastic or cosmetic surgery.

The cost of every plastic surgery is also shockingly expensive. For example, a breast lift will cost over $3000, and no insurance company will cover a plastic surgery if it is not medically required. The worst thing is, if the first round of surgery does not produce the optimal result, there will be other surgeries followed for correction and modification. This cost is extra, and people must pay for it because they do not want to look even worse than before their plastic surgery. Although you can find cheaper plastic surgery abroad, you must first verify the qualifications of the plastic surgeon in the country that you choose to have the plastic surgery done.

Most plastic surgery results don’t last a life time. A breast lift only works well for the first four to ten years. As a woman gets older, her skin becomes less elastic, and she experiences weight gain, and the breasts will droop again. Breast implants do not last forever either and you will have to get them replaced about ten years after your surgery. Women who have them are still enjoying their advantage, but 10 to 12 years after, implants that are embedded inside the breast will have to be replaced or removed.

Many girls are obsessed with having Angelina Jolie’s lip by going for Botox or Restylane injections. The fact is, if not done by a skilled cosmetic surgeon, they look funny and unnatural. Undeniably, Angelina Jolie has sexy lips, but it requires Angelina Jolie’s nose, eyes, face shape and everything else of her to make those lips looks sexy. On top of that, her lips are natural and suit her face.

Psychologically wise, a woman who is considering getting plastic surgery may have issues with her self-esteem and these must be examined. She thinks that becoming prettier by plastic or cosmetic surgery will give her more confidence and more frequent romantic encounters. This is very unhealthy. If a person’s confidence is relies totally on her looks, then they are very vulnerable to factors that will tear down her looks, for example, aging, illness, or even acne… Furthermore, when a woman initially thought that getting a nose job would be enough to make her feel better, but found that she probably needs more surgery to modify her chin, her lips and her breasts, it becomes a vicious cycle. She may become a plastic surgery addict.  And the more plastic surgery she has done, the weaker her esteem and confidence become.  How you feel about yourself should not entirely be tied up in one’s looks.

Lastly, survey results shows that 66% of men don’t like their girlfriend to have plastic surgery, they would rather see the real face on someone they love for her inner beauty. If you think that by obtaining a D cup will impress your boyfriend, then you probably should think about changing your boyfriend instead of changing your bra cup size. Financing breast implants does not come cheap. It’s cheaper and probably healthier in the long run to accept your breasts the way they are and dump the boyfriend.
