Message of Hope and Peace
As I was walking through the city of beautiful Venice recently I came upon an art gallery with the Hope sculpture in the window. I was about to take a photo and a lady who worked in the gallery came to shoo me off, wagging her finger with “no fotos!” Well, I loved the sculpture so when she turned her back and walked back into the store, I just had to take a photo. It’s for the memories you see.
The Hope sculpture was created by the iconic artist Robert Indiana, also known for his numerous block-letter creations of the word LOVE. Maybe you never found love but you’ll always have hope, so here it is.
I also like the message. Hope. It can be a positive and a negative thing. Negative in the way that it opens a Pandora’s Box of unfulfilled wishes. I want the message to be positive this year. This Christmas season, here’s wishing there will be hope and peace in the world for 2014. Maybe I’m a naive optimist, but that’s my Christmas message this year. Hope. Maybe a good thing.
